Carrabassett Valley Academy welcomes students from around the world. With the support of dedicated teachers, coaches, dorm parents, and CVA families, international students quickly become an integral part of our vibrant community.
Applying from Abroad
Thank you for your interest in Carrabassett Valley Academy! To start the application process, please complete our online inquiry form. Once we receive your inquiry, we will send you a link to access the goCVA application portal, where you can track your application status.
While we encourage all families to visit CVA in person, we understand this may not always be possible for international applicants. For families unable to travel, we will arrange a Zoom interview with our Admissions team to ensure a smooth application process.
Tuition & Financial Aid
Tuition for international students is the same as for domestic students. If you need financial assistance, please visit our Tuition & Financial Aid page to explore available options and begin the financial aid application process.
All students are required to have a comprehensive medical insurance plan that is accepted by local healthcare providers. Please note that medical insurance issued from outside the United States may not provide full coverage while in the U.S.
To assist in selecting a suitable insurance plan, Carrabassett Valley Academy has partnered with Clifford Allen Associates to offer quality health insurance for our students.
International students attending Carrabassett Valley Academy are issued an I-20 Form, which allows them to stay in the United States for the duration of their studies. The I-20 Form provides essential program information and serves as proof of enrollment at CVA. Students must carry their signed I-20 Form whenever entering or exiting the United States. The form remains valid for each year the student is enrolled at CVA.
International students, except those from Canada, must obtain an F-1 Student Visa to study in the U.S. To assist with the visa application process, CVA will issue an official I-20 Form. Applicants are also required to pay the I-901 SEVIS fee on the SEVIS Fee Processing website.
I-94 Forms are typically provided to students at their first border crossing. To re-enter the United States, students must carry their I-94 Form. This form can be obtained on the I-94 Travel Records website.
Academic Success Program
CVA’s Academic Success Program (ASP) is a skill-based initiative designed to help students reach their greatest potential and become independent learners. This individualized program offers academic support services that go beyond the extra help available in the academic program.
The Academic Success Program is available to provide additional support to student-athletes when English is their second language.
